The central task of the esc medien kunst lab is the production of art. The focus is on artistic processes that investigate and deal with new technologies and their effects on social developments.
The artistic activities of the esc medien kunst labor are determined by the fact that art is understood as a subsystem of social and societal reality; the media-specific aspect is derived from the designation of this reality by new cultural technologies, new media. In its productions and developments, the esc medien kunst labor prefers the new, the untested and the unsecured and bears the risk.

The House of Music and Music Theatre (MUMUTH) was built specially for KUG. It was first used in 2009 after a three-year construction period. The spectacular design by Dutch architect, Ben van Berkel, is based on the winning project from an international competition, and is dominated by steel, concrete and glass in various combinations and superimpositions.
Named after György Ligeti, the concert and music theatre hall features highly innovative and variable acoustics, modern light design and a completely flexible seating system.
The Forum Stadtpark is a production and presentation site for contemporary art. Organised as an artists' association, the house stands for an extended concept of art and for interdisciplinary work in the fields of architecture, literature, fine arts, film, photography, media art, fashion, music, theatre, performance and theory.
It is the claim of the house to be a laboratory and platform for many scenes of local, Austrian and international cultural production. The Forum Stadtpark was founded in Graz in 1959 by Othmar Carli, Gustav Zankl, Siegfried Neuburg, Emil Breisach, Günter Waldorf and others. They adapted the empty Graz "Stadtpark-Cafe" for art events. The name Forum Stadtpark therefore refers to both the action group and the place with the address Stadtpark 1.

The Orpheum, located in the middle of the up-and-coming Graz art and design quarter "Lend", has a very specific flair.
This results from the mixture of the sixties equipment of the foyer with the most current programs from the domestic cabaret and the international pop / rock scene.
Opened in 1899 as a variety theater "Orpheum", it was later cinema, then the Graz "House of Youth". Even today, the Orpheum attracts audiences of all ages. The unique is the in-house program, which is explicitly aimed at a young audience.
The church of Mariahilf is located in the Lendviertel at Mariahilferplatz. The Minoriten monastery is also attached to the church.
Every day at 4 p.m. a carillon in changing melodies rings out from the church towers of the church of Mariahilf. The carillon consists of seven swinging church bells , the „Schöfpungsgeläut“, which are struck with a hammer from the outside during the carillon, and 13 fixed mounted carillon bells, which are fitted with hammer devices inside and which sound exclusively during the carillon. The casting of the new carillon bells with tones from f sharp'' to h''', was carried out in 2009 by the company Perner in Passau.
