Since his studies at the Montanuniversität Leoben, Herwig Schuster has been involved in the environmental protection organization Greenpeace. After he had finished his studies in 1997, Schuster moved to Vienna, where he began to work full time for Greenpeace. Till 2002 he lead the Austrian genetic engineering campaign. After that he worked on the build-up of Greenpeace offices in Eastern Europe, especially in Hungary, Poland and Romania. One of his big concerns is the development of campaigns regarding consumers. Therefore he was involved in the development and build-up of the product database www.marktcheck.at.
