Born in Harlem in 1986 to Dominican-Ecuadorian parents, Venus X grew up in Washington Heights and has recently made a name for herself in NYC's underground music and art scene. She founded GHE20G0TH1K with HBA's Shayne Oliver and Physical Therapy in 2009. The club night was a safe place for queer people of color, honoring the ballroom house legacy and mixing it all up with unlikely club sounds from all over in a true post-internet fashion. The imprint quickly became a political movement.
