Cory Doctorow - Chokepoint Capitalism

Friday's keynote will be delivered by acclaimed science fiction author, blogger and digital rights activist Cory Doctorow. 

In his latest book (co-authored with Rebecca Giblin), he provides insights into a new era of capitalist economics, "Chokepoint Capitalism." In it, the Canadian describes the monopoly position of the major Internet platforms and how they created insurmountable and exploitative barriers to competition that today allow them to amass immense wealth that should rightfully belong to others. His analysis is also a call to the labor movement and the creative class to organize against the power of the big tech companies.
