Margarethe Maierhofer-Lischka (de)

Margarethe Maierhofer-Lischka is a double bass player, scientist and sound artist. In her work she is dealing with sound spaces, performative situations and their relationship to human perception. She works with (improvised) music, electronics, various media and performative settings. Her dissertation on stagings of listening in contemporary music theatre was awarded the Theodor Körner Prize for Science and Art in 2018. Conference lectures and guest teaching have taken her to the University of Graz, FH Joanneum, University of Aveiro (Portugal), HMT Rostock and Harvard University, among others. She is a member of various artist collectives and initiatives in Graz and beyond, including chair of mur.at - Association for Network Art and founder of the ensemble "Schallfeld" Graz. 2020 she is a radio artist and theorist and part of the project "Grazer Soundscapes" of Radio Helsinki.
