André Menrath is a pianist, composer and piano teacher based in Graz. Grown up near Passau, Germany, when he was a teenager he started to learn guitar and piano autodidactically. In the same explorative way he discovered for himself the then still wondrous world of computers. Subsequently, he studied electrical and audio engineering, the interface between music and technology, and later took up classical piano as a major as well. As a theater musician, he won the 2019 Marta Award for best music at the "Setkání/Encouter" theater festival in Brno together with Paul Öllinger. The technical-social challenges, which became even more visible in the course of the Corona pandemic, prompted him to initiate the online services on *.graz.social.
