Mietshäuser Syndikat
The Mietshäuser Syndikat offers advice to self-organized housing projects. It successfully pursues the goal to permanently withdraw houses from the real estate market and to point out alternative options to ownership. To date 61 housing projects throughout Germany, which are home to 1600 people, are self-managed according to the syndicate’s model. A control function that prevents a re-privatization of houses, as well as solidarity and support for new projects, are major points of effort by the association. But the model of the Mietshäuser Syndikat has even more to offer.
