Lizzie Jackson

Lizzie Jackson is professor for interactive media  at Ravensbourne College of Design and Communication in London, heading  Ravensbourne's research department. Before becoming an academic  Jackson had a long career at BBC at first in radio production at later she launched and managed the BBC's message boards, live chats, and chat room teams as well as the BBC's Internet safety initiatives. In 2004 Lizzie was named 'One of the 100 Innovators of the UK Internet Decade' by NOP World and e-consultancy.com. She was elected a Fellow of the Royal Society for the Encouragement of Arts, Manufactures and Commerce (RSA) in 2007. Since 2009 she is an advisor to the Council of Europe on the management and governance of public service media and the re-definition of culture and education in the era of networked communications. Jacksons most recent book “Public Media for the 21st Century” will be published in 2014. The book’s contributors analyse the challenges facing public service media management in the face of ongoing technological developments and changing audience behaviours.
