The association Gemüsewerkstatt (vegetables workshop) is a platform to network regional organic farmers and urban consumers. As a regional development and trial of an alternative marketing scheme, the association offers food from the Graz region and provides information about local food production. The Gemüsewerkstatt has opened its premises at 36 Leonhardstraße in 2010. Since then the network has continuously expanded. Angela Hirmann (director) is a nutritional educator and passionate cook. Ernst Preininger (founder and CEO) is a geographer.
