David Steinwender is practically and scientifically engaged in transformation processes on the community level. He worked in the department for ecology and sustainability at the Austrian Students Union (ÖH) at the University of Graz, was involved in many bottom-up networking processes and co-founded Transition Graz.
Currently he works at the Forum Urban Gardening (FUG) and is engaged in the building-process of a countrywide transition network that aims to connect bottom-up initiatives from all areas of society concerning sustainability. Furthermore he is engaged in the food sovereignty movement both locally and nationally. He aims to connect the topics commons and food with other topics of sustainable regional development under the banner of relocalization.
