Mopcut aims to construct a sonic entity that fully envelopes the listener and affects both the ears and the inner eye to the same intense extent. This is how Audrey Chen, Julien Desprez and Lukas König describe their trio project, which saw its debut at last year's donaufestival. All three of them come from jazz, but their improvisational skill defies any and all genre classifications. Lukas König utilizes drums, synthesizers and his voice, Julien Desprez plays the electric guitar and Audrey Chen superimposes sounds from her analogue synths onto her ecstatically extemporaneous vocals.
