Fridays for Future Graz (at)
Fridays For Future is a movement initiated by school children and inspired by the 16-year-old climate activist Greta Thunberg from Sweden and her school strikes for climate protection. Every week, hundreds of thousands of young people around the world go on strike on Fridays to set an extremely big and important example: That children and young people care about the future of this planet.
The need to declare the climate crisis as the most important crisis of our century and to treat it as such can no longer be denied. The first Fridays For Future demonstration in Graz on February 15th was attended by 2000 young people who made theirs voices heard in an impressive fashion. Further demonstrations are already being planned.
The initiators of Fridays For Future Graz, Marlene Seidel, Lena Stuhlpfarrer and Jakob Prettenthaler talk about their initiative and their demands at the Elevate opening.
