Truth in Immersion?

The IKO is a revolutionary 3D audio speaker. It is the world's most compact speaker system based on 3D audio technology Higher Order Ambisonics (HOA).

Complex algorithms allow the IKO to send beams in any direction. By means of wall and ceiling reflections, the IKO creates a sound space that draws the listener into the middle of media and artistic events. Thus it is possible to create highly immersive auditory impressions with a single sound body.

With the IKO, the audio technology company sonible and the Institute for Electronic Music and Acoustics at Graz University of the Arts paved the way for new innovative applications in the field of 3D audio: sound art, virtual reality, measurement technology and much more.

Fascinating three-dimensional sound worlds

Rashad Becker wrote an Ambisonics composition for the Elevate 2018, which he presented via the IKO, thus creating a three-dimensional sound field with different storylines. Artists such as Gerriet K. Sharma and Dugal McKinnon also use the IKO as a unique instrument. The sound sculptures created in these performances seem to override the laws of the physical world as we know it. A spectacular sound experience that challenges our perception again and again.

The Graz-based company sonible develops innovative products for the professional audio market. Practical knowledge and technological know-how are transformed into reliable and efficient tools that make the workflow in dealing with audio material easier and faster.
