Although the vast majority of scientists are convinced that we are in the midst of a rapidly progressing process of man-made climate change, there are still studies that claim the opposite. Who is behind them, what arguments are they working with? Others are trying to turn the fight against climate change into a new business model or see it mainly as a technical problem, while radical eco-activists are calling for a return to a simple lifestyle. Many discussions revolve around percentages of CO2 emissions, ignoring the fact that climate change has many more aspects and presents us with different societal challenges that are not limited to CO2 reduction. How can we as societies come to democratic, sustainable decisions between these many different positions and interests?
