Petra Buhr (de)
Petra Buhr is Coordinator of the Free Knowledge Network Germany and is IP Justice’s Global Policy Fellow from Germany. She has studied History, Politics and Law in Dresden and Berlin where she was specializing in Social Movements and Non-Governmental Organizations in national and transnational politics and Intellectual Property Rights. Since 2001 she has worked for different non-profit organizations in Germany where she organized campaigns, e.g. a campaign for an alternative compensation system for sharing music and films in P2P-networks. In 2006 she has cofounded the Free Knowledge Network in Germany. The network is heading to influence German government politics on Intellectual Property Rights by promoting the value of a rich public domain and the advantages of alternatives to IPR for societies in north and south.
