Helga Kromp-Kolb (at)
Helga Kromp-Kolb worked as a meteorologist at the University of Vienna, the Central Institute for Meteorology and Geodynamics and at the University of Natural Resources and Life Sciences. In addition to her work as a University Professor of Meteorology and Climatology, she initiated the Center for Global Change and Sustainability of the BOKU and led it until 2018 (focusing on "social transformation", "education for sustainable development", "paradigm shifts in science"). She was central in founding the Climate Change Center Austria (CCCA) and the Allianz of Sustainable Universities in Austria. She is co-author of the first Austrian Assessment Report on Climate Change 2014 (AAR14) and the project UniNEtZ for anchoring the UN's Sustainable Development Goals at the universities.She is a member of scientific advisory boards and has published numerous publications and received prizes. Among others, she was awarded the prize of the Austrian science journalists in 2005 and the Great Silver Medal for Services to the Republic of Austria in 2013.
