The political scientist Manuel Graf has worked with WWF Switerzland on a thermal sanitation project. Additionally, he has kept himself busy at the Stiftung Wissenschaft und Politik (German Institute for International and Security Affairs) with the problem of carbon leakage - a phenomenon arising from the prolongation of foreign production due to soaring costs through emission trading within the EU. Currently, Graf is working as climate spokesperson at the Austrian environmental protection organization Global 2000, which has been a member of the worldwide environmental protection network Friends of the Earth since 1998. The organization upholds the promise of working independently and critically for a green, sustainable and healthy environment, wherein lies the present campaign emphasis on areas such as nuclear energy, genetic engineering, global warming and development of sustainable concepts.
