David Steinwender (at)

David Steinwender studied environmental systems sciences with a focus on geography. He deals with community-based transformation processes in community and municipal development - with a focus on small-scale, sustainable food supply systems. In Graz he co-founded the Forum Urbanes Gärtnern and is committed to a democratic food (policy) system. He is also active in the Transition movement and helped to initiate Transition Graz and the Transition Austria platform. He was head of the Department for Human Rights, Social Policy and Ecology at the ÖH Uni Graz.

Recently he has been involved in the field of sustainable universities (forum n and Ökovernetzungsförderverein) as well as in municipal development in regard to the implementation of the Vitale Community and the DorfUni 2.0.
