Alliances For and Against Climate Action

Panel

Saturday, 04 Mar 2023

13:00 - 14:30 Heimatsaal

In this panel, Andreas Sator, climate journalist, author and podcaster, looks at possible alliances for solutions to the climate crisis.
The phase-out of fossil energy and the simultaneous expansion of wind and hydropower as well as photovoltaic plants is necessarily linked to changes in the landscape. This requires an understanding and the will of a wide variety of actors: politicians, the general public, NGOs, alpinists, hunters and farmers. In conversation with his fellow panelists, the journalist not only provides an outlook on possible alliances for the expansion, but also explains why there are sometimes unusual to unholy alliances against such construction projects in Austria.

Andreas Sator will be joined by: Florian Maringer, political advisor on climate and energy issues, solar entrepreneur Cornelia Daniel, Dieter Thyr, head of the Energy Technology and Climate Protection Department of the Province of Styria and Christian Metschina, head of the Energy, Climate and Bioresources Department of the Styrian Chamber of Agriculture.

broadcasted live on the free radio station: Freirad Innsbruck
