MMag.a Dr.in Gabriele Michalitsch, born 1966 in Wien, studied political science and a combination of philosophy/spanish and journalism at the University of Vienna (graduated 1991) as well as economics at the Vienna School of Economics (graduated 1994). After research studies at the University of Tübingen and at the "Deutsches Orient-Institut" (Hamburg) (1989–1990) followed a post-graduate-degree of political science at the "Institut für Höhere Studien" (IHS) Vienna 1994–96. 2003 Doctorate in political science at the University of Vienna. 1994 Gabriele Michalitsch became research-assistant as well as lecturer at the Institute for theoretical economics and politics at the WU Vienna, furthermore she got lecturer at the Universities of Innsbruck and Salzburg, as well as the Instituto Tecnológico y de Estudios Superiores de Monterrey (ITESM) in Mexico. Since 2002/03 she has a guest professorship at the Galatasaray University in Istanbul. Other engagements: 2001–2002 working at "Women and Financial Policy in Austria" and co-founder of the Joan Robinson Association for gender-equal distribution of economic knowledge in Vienna and 1999–2002 co-publisher of the book-series "Frauen, Forschung und Wirtschaft [Women, Research, and Economics]" of the WU Vienna.
