GeLaWi is modeled on CSA (Community Supported Agriculture) which has its origins in the U.S.. At the centre of this approach lies the agreement that consumers and producers jointly assume responsibility for costs, risk, and harvest. The farm feeds the community, which in return guarantees the purchase of the harvest and the funding of a whole season’s budget. Voluntary work days, festivities on the farm, and shared meals help to strengthen the connection between people and with the land that feeds them. KLEINeFARM is a young farm growing a large variety of vegetables about 30 kilometres south of Graz. Ulli Klein is an idealistic organic farmer who runs the farm together with her family. Karin Schuster is besides her involvement in GeLaWi also active for Attac Graz.
