Ingrid Skjoldvær is a Norwegian environmental activist and student. Ingrid grew up in Vesterålen, one of the world’s most productive fishing areas. She became involved in the environmental movement at 13 when the oil industry wanted to start drilling off the coast of the Vesterålen, Lofoten and Senja archipelago. Ingrid was chair of Natur og Ungdom (Young Friends of the Earth Norway) between 2016-2018 where she worked to stop dumping of mining waste in Norwegian fjords as well as lead Natur og Ungdom and Greenpeace’s climate lawsuit against the Norwegian government for allowing more Arctic drilling. Today Ingrid is deputy chair of Folkeaksjonen (The Peoples Movement for an Oil-free Lofoten, Vesterålen and Senja).
