Bert Bricht
Bert Bricht is a Vienna-based underground comic artist, illustrator and graphic designer. Since 2006 he has co-hosted Slobberclub, a monthly series of small electronic music events. In 2004, he produced the video documentary Notes on Breakcore, which was co-produced by David Kleinl (media artist and frontman of the Austrian "Schlager" group, Tanz Baby!). The video featured interviews with producers and label owners such as Venetian Snares, Nicolas Chevreux, Christoph Fringeli and Mike Paradinas, and was released by Widerstand Records in 2006. In the same year he teamed up with Chris Haring, a renowned choreographer and Artistic Director of the Vienna-based dance company Liquid Loft. The pair worked together to create an interactive comic that was used for the performance Running Sushi, a Golden Lion winner at the 2007 Venice Biennale. Soon after, he was responsible for organizing Vienna's first and second 24 Hour Comic events in 2007 and 2008. Since then, he has collaborated with Austrian producers and performers like Tomoroh Hidari, Bobby Velvet and I Am Ape. Currently he is working with artist Flora P. and producer Raseac on an experimental music project called Dedwen. Being an obsessive music collector for nearly two decades, his selections reflect his love for hunting down rare tracks of weird bass music and mutant breakbeats.
