Sam Muirhead is a Berlin-based videographer from New Zealand with a background in music video and documentary. On August 1st, 2012 he plunged himself into a project to attempt to live as „open source“ as possible - discovering Creative Commons films and music, making clothes with hacked knitting machines and parametric designs, creating digitally manufactured furniture and getting to grips with open hardware and 3D printing. Part test-drive, part crash-test, with this project Sam is attempting to investigate, evaluate and explain many of the concepts and practical realities of the open knowledge movement.
