Welcome to Grandhotel Cosmopolis!

An empty nursing home in Augsburg has become a space for negotiation, for the recognition of a cosmo-political reality in our society. What started off as a bold idea is growing day by day and operates far beyond the walls of the building.
The social plasticity creates living spaces, and not only for the 65 people denominated asylum seekers by the provincial government and assigned to the integrated refugee accommodation; but also for guests in 16 individually designed hotel and hostel rooms; for human cooperation in open teaching workshops and art studios for interdisciplinary use; as a stage for the interplay between various artistic forms of expression; as a meeting point of cultures in the café-bar; as cosmo-politically organized kitchen; and as a lobby for travellers of all kinds.
