Creativity is a response to a particular set of circumstances; sometimes that response will be more overtly political than at other times, but it is always in the background. It is really important to stand together and speak up together in a way that you and they and everyone else knows that you are not alone. Creative Response to the multiple converging crises can be as diverse as it is inspiring.
Many people engage in key issues of our time, because they know it's the right time to do so. On this day the Elevate Festival will channel the visionary energy of a multitude of initiatives and issues a call to get active. Eight locations in the city centre of Graz will be housing sessions and workshops on a broad range of topics. Together with the international guests of the festival, participants can work creatively on new visions, ideas and solutions for the challenges we are facing as a global society. The three hour long sessions are happening before and after noon. The Elevate Festival provides the infrastructure for this day of “Creative Response in Action” in cooperation with the venues. The results of these creative processes will also be distributed in public space – in Graz and world wide.
We have a chance to make history by our actions or our indifference. We all have the talent to creatively respond - maybe not as a painter or a novelist, but as a citizens of the world. Everybody can do something!
In the evening there is the possibility for networking and an exchange of ideas at Forum Stadtpark. Furthermore, filmmaker and author Antonino D'Ambrosio will present his Free Space concept and a selection of amazing Creative Responders on stage.
