With Stereoist, the Grazean musicians Gerd Schmidtauer and Paul Wolff unite their passion for electronic music. Over the past few years, intense collaboration has resulted in the birthing of a wide variety of musical products beyond conventional genre concepts. All this is steeped in the idea of understanding sound as something malleable and vital and to use it freely as such. The focus lies on clearly defined sound aesthetics with an affinity for detail, which is achieved on the one hand by various transformations of recorded audio material by methods of synthesis on the other. The audience is invited to immerse themselves in their world of sound and remain there during their bass-heavy, two-dimensional live shows.
