Bjarki (is)
Saturday, 02 Mar 2019
Born Bjarki Runar Sigurdarson in Reykjavik, Iceland, Bjarki is an electronic music composer whose tracks range from straightforward bangers to ambient and IDM. Bjarki has kept a low profile in releasing his music, until he met Nina Kraviz in 2014 who became a fan of his tracks, and began releasing his archive on her label трип (Trip).
Following several compilation appearances, Bjarki’s first proper release was the 2015 ‘Arthur And The Intergalactic Whales’, which included the simple yet effective ‘’I Wanna Go Bang’’, one of the year’s biggest club hits. The following year, Bjarki mined his extensive backlog of unreleased material with three LP’s for трип. The debut full-length Б appeared in June, with Lefhanded Fuqs and Æ following shortly afterwards. Bjarki debuted his new live AV show at Sonar Reykjavik earlier this year, and will be presenting it at selected festivals and venues throughout 2019.
