We would like to extend a special thank you to Legero / con-tempus (www.con-tempus.eu). This platform founded by Stefan Stolitzka, supports diversity and quality in the art field. Con-tempus stands as an initiative to nurture and build a sustainable and vibrant environment for art. As a Presenting Sponsor for the third consecutive year, Con-tempus presents the Music and Arts portion of Elevate Festival.
The Max Brand Synthesizer workshop on Friday at Kunsthaus Needle is part of our collaboration with the Red Bull Music Academy. The Austrian composer Elisabeth Schimana together with Gregor Ladenhauf will give you the rundown of the popular instrument and over the course of that, present her newly published book “Maschinen für die Oper. Der Komponist Max Brand. Visionen, Brüche und die Realität.” (Hollitzer Verlag, 2016)
This year also holds a very special co-operation with the Institut für Musikwissenschaft an der Universität, Graz. Uni professor extraordinaire Werner Jauk will be attending the opening ceremony as well as hosting the IASPM-D-A-CH-Konferenz 2016, which takes place at the same time. The main goal of the german-speaking branch of the International Association for the Study of Popular Music is the long-lasting entrenchment of popular music in research and teachings at universities, music academies and colleges as well as in councils of research funding across Germany, Austria and Switzerland.
