Evelyn Schalk lives and works as a freelance author and journalist in Graz, Vienna, Berlin and wherever else she ends up. She studied Romance studies, German studies and media studies. In 2004 she co-founded the wall newspaper ausreißer and has since co-published it. Schalk writes as a columnist for the literary magazine perspective. Since 2017 she is member of the executive board of IG Kultur Österreich and since 2018 spokeswoman of the Women*s Action Forum Graz. She is currently working on the literature project nacht.schicht and on the book Graz off the beaten path. Always: traveler through languages, cities as well as literary and artistic experiments. Definitely: feminist. Basta.
Women*s Action Forum Graz is a group of artists, scientists and practitioners from Graz's women's institutions, who want to bundle their energies in 2018 and call for commitment against everyday sexism, racism and homophobia.
