Als unabhängiger Journalist ist Sharif Abdel Kouddous seit acht Jahren für Democracy Now! tätig. Als Produzent, Co-Host und Korrespondent berichtete er unter anderem aus Bagdad während des Irakkrieges, aus New Orleans nach Hurrikan Katrina, aus Haiti nach dem Erdbeben 2010, von den Klimagipfeln in Kopenhagen und Cochabamba und aus Ägypten während der Revolution 2011. Weiters schreibt er für zahlreiche Magazine (The Nation, Foreign Policy, Al-Ahram Weekly, Al-Masry Al Youm) und tritt in internationalen TV-Formaten auf (Al Jazeera English, MSNBC).
