Anna Breit is a photographer who works at the intersection of documentary, applied, and artistic photography. Her work focuses on a sensitive exploration of interpersonal relationships, often with people from her immediate environment. In her solo exhibition These days I think a lot about the days that I forgot (Francisco Carolinum Linz, 2025), she addresses questions of memory and closeness through a portrait of three generations—her grandmother, her mother, and herself. In the series Teens (in their rooms) (2019–2021), she portrayed young people in their rooms; the book of the same name was published in 2021 by Fotohof and has been shown at Fotohof, WestLicht, Museum der Arbeit Hamburg, and currently at LENTOS Linz, among other venues. In 2024, she published her second book, Look Book – 01 (Fotohof), which is an examination of her archive from 2018–2024 and explores the limits of the photographic reproduction mechanism in the transition between commissioned work and artistic photography.
