New Date: Elevate 2021 in August
The still tense pandemic situation combined with the extended Austrian entry and quarantine regulations has prompted the festival team to take this step.
Despite a foreseeable easing of the pandemic situation and first signals towards openings in the cultural sector, the situation remains complicated as far as realistic planning of cultural events with international participation is concerned.
The new date of the Elevate Festival is now: 4 - 8 August 2021.
For the period at the beginning of August, the festival management expects more opportunities for events with audience attendance and better conditions regarding the freedom of travel and also the safety of international artists, speakers and guests.
The opening of the festival will take place on the 4th of August at the open-air stage Kasematten on the Schloßberg in Graz, the discourse programme of the festival will move to the Next Liberty theatre venue.
On 5 August, the concert evening around Anna von Hausswolff will take place in the Graz Cathedral, and from the same date Brian Eno's installation 77 Million Paintings will also be open to the public in the Dom im Berg.
The festival team is also working on further formats and open air events.
More information on the programme of the 17th edition of the festival, the start of pre-sale and the Elevate app will follow from mid-June.
