Manuals for Designing Trust

Workshop / Presentation

Friday, 07 Mar 2025

10:00 - 12:00 Heimatsaal

In this workshop, second-semester BA Information Design students will present the first results of a course running simultaneously at FH JOANNEUM as part of Elevate festival. Students will share their manuals that scrutinize how design serves as a strategic tool for influential entities such as corporations, governments to fabricate trust. These handbooks for the everyday user will expose trust issues in public and private spaces, while also providing strategies for individuals to establish safe spaces and build trust, both online and offline. Together with the teaching staff, students will provide a platform for discourse to critically evaluate the role of design in shaping public perception and trust. This discussion aims to empower participants to recognize and challenge these dynamics during the festival weekend and beyond.
