Climate Collapse - Not alone in this

Workshop

Thursday, 06 Mar 2025

10:00 - 12:00 Heimatsaal

Registration via https://elevate.at/en/workshops/ (Participation is possible even if you don’t speak German, but please let us know in advance.)

How can we tackle the climate crisis and climate anxiety not just individually but collectively? What makes us more resilient—both individually and as a community? Who needs me in a state of emergency, and whom do I trust? How do we transform despair into collective action when the exception and “never again” become a “new normal”? And is there a way to practice solidarity within the context of attending a festival?

In this interactive workshop with Samuel Eberenz, we will engage as a group of individuals sharing a timetable for a weekend festival in Graz, likely with some shared anxieties, fundamental beliefs, and possibly similar music tastes. On a larger scale, this is about expanding our comfort zones, strengthening our skills, and laying the foundation for a shared, just life within planetary boundaries. That’s a lot. In our encounter, we will take small steps, activate the community muscle, and form tentative connections. And for those interested, there may be a chance to make plans for the upcoming days together at Elevate.

Samuel Eberenz, a climate scientist with a Ph.D. and long-time Elevate attendee, is the initiator of the “Utopia Doubt” lab and project leader for climate and energy at the Risk Dialogue in Zurich. He brings his experience in developing diverse perspectives to this workshop.
