Georg Günsberg has been working at the KONTEXT Institute since June 2025. He studied political science and communication studies and has been active in the fields of climate protection and energy for over 30 years, mostly as an independent consultant at the interface of science, business, civil society, and politics. From September 2020 to March 2025, he served as a staff member in the cabinet of then Vice-Chancellor Werner Kogler, including nearly three years as Head of Cabinet.

Founded in 2024 and based in Vienna, the KONTEXT Institute is an independent think tank dedicated to evidence-based climate policy. It develops concrete solutions for ecological transformation and analyzes the economic, political, and social contexts relevant to climate policy.
