Friedrich Moser, born in 1969 in Gmunden, Upper Austria, studied History and German Studies in Salzburg and Bilbao, writing his thesis on “Populism bei Karl Lueger.” After a teaching internship in East Tyrol, he worked as a TV journalist and news editor in Bolzano from 1998 to 2000. In 2001, he founded the production company blue+green communication and began his career as a documentary filmmaker, focusing on international topics from 2008 after participating in the Documentary Campus.

In 2012, Moser released his first theatrical documentary, The Brussels Business, about lobbying in Brussels. This was followed by A Good American (2015), which explored corruption at the NSA and the rise of mass surveillance, Terrorjagd im Netz (2017) for ARTE, and BEER! A Love Story (2019), a tribute to craft beer brewing. In 2020, he released Die Geldroboter about high-frequency trading, followed in 2023 by Flash Wars – KI im Krieg, also for ARTE.

In 2022, he founded Friedrich Moser Film GmbH to collaborate with investors. Since 2019, he has been working on How to Build a Truth Engine, which had its world premiere at SXSW in March 2024 and premiered in Austrian cinemas in December 2024. Based in Vienna, Moser focuses on the intersection of technology, science, politics, and society in collaboration with international partners.
