Brunner worked for ORF in 1996 after training as a restorer. In the 1990s, she worked at the Viennese city broadcaster TIV and supervised the party service of the city newspaper Falter for over three years, and completed a degree in philosophy. The program HipHop-Lesekreis, created by Natalie Brunner, Mahdi Rahimi, Stefan Trischler and Ole Weinreich and broadcast on FM4, was awarded the Austrian Radio Prize for Adult Education as the Best Short Program.
Although active on the radio as a DJ and host of the club show La Boum de Luxe, Brunner is considered "publicity shy." Together with Esther Straganz, she runs the publishing company Troll Divisions. In 2017, she portrayed the Viennese club Bliss for the international art magazine Flash Art, from which Hyperreality, the club festival of the Wiener Festwochen, grew. She writes about hip-hop and electronic music for the website of the radio station FM4. Natalie Brunner is ghostwriter of the book by Kuddles O'Dougle Hearst Bite the Hand that feeds, published by Proll Position.
