Alexander Van der Bellen (at)

Alexander Van der Bellen is an Austrian economist, politician and has been President of the Republic of Austria since January 26, 2017. Van der Bellen was sworn in for a second term of office on January 26, 2023.

From 1976 until the 1990s, he taught as a university professor of economics at the University of Innsbruck and the University of Vienna. From 1997 to 2008, he was the federal spokesman for the Greens and from 1999 to 2008, he was the leader of his party in the Austrian National Council, of which he had been a member since 1994.
