Elevate 2025: Further confirmations in the music and discourse programme and new venues
Among the new confirmations are names such as disco and house icon The Blessed Madonna, jungle legend Goldie, techno and darkwave purist Helena Hauff and electronic avant-gardist Dan Deacon.
A special highlight will also be the meeting of drone master Kali Malone with Krautrock pioneer Roedelius, who will close the festival with concerts in Graz Cathedral.
Tickets for all categories – day tickets, weekend passes and tickets for individual events – are available now.
New venues for the music programme in vibrant Graz
The Elevate Festival is also expanding its venues in the city in 2025 and bringing a breath of fresh air to the programme. Changing conditions, including the official cancellation of the Schlossberg tunnel, have provided the impetus to further develop the festival programme in a variety of ways.
Elevate 2025 surprises with new venues that offer the music programme a particularly versatile stage:
Helmut-List-Halls A, B + D
This year's Elevate Saturday night is moving to the List Hall, where it will offer an energetic club programme on three levels.
Halls A, B + D will simultaneously host exciting event formats that complement the festival programme on Saturday and ensure a varied experience.
Large Minoritensaal
The French Acousmonium will be brought to Graz in 2025 in the impressive Großer Minoritensaal, whose historic atmosphere creates a unique backdrop for this special sound installation.
GRNGR (former Gehringer inn, near Lendplatz)
The old Gehringer inn dates back to the late 17th century - for more than 100 years, the building was a pub and residential building. Since 2024, the former inn premises have served as an event venue and in 2025 the Elevate Festival will use them for the first time.
Graz Cathedral and Mausoleum
Graz Cathedral and the Mausoleum will become the stage for impressive sound experiments and the atmospheric closing concert.
The tried-and-tested locations Dom im Berg, Orpheum, Orpheum Extra, Aiola Upstairs, Heimatsaal, Forum Stadtpark and Gatto im Museum will once again be central venues for the Elevate Festival in 2025.

Further confirmations in the discourse programme
Over three days, the Elevate Festival’s discourse program will explore the multifaceted crises of trust in our time under the theme “Trust Issues”.
The topic will be examined through workshops, internationally curated lectures, and discussion panels with renowned speakers from the fields of business, journalism, technology, and civil society initiatives, providing new insights and perspectives.
Among the newly confirmed speakers is James Bridle (they/them), a renowned British artist and author known for their critical examination of technology, privacy and migration policy. In their book “The Inconceivable Diversity of Being”, Bridle explores the interplay of human, artificial, plant and animal intelligence.
Esra Karakaya, award-winning journalist and founder of Karakaya Talks, brings the perspectives of millennials and Gen Zs of colour into the media discourse and advocates for more media justice.
Alfred Ongere, founder of “AI Kenya”, represents the East African AI community and sheds light on the ethical use of artificial intelligence. Freyja van den Boom, Dutch scientist, will also provide insights into the social, legal and ethical challenges of disruptive technologies. Gvantsa Gverdtsiteli from Transparency International will complement the programme with her research on climate justice and the dynamics of authoritarianism. As a climate and energy expert, Samuel Eberenz will contribute his expertise on the interactions between technology and society in a workshop that will explore the question of how a good and just life within planetary boundaries can be achieved.
