From the Janus party at Berghain to the Hyperdub party at Corsica Studios, from NTS Radio to the Kenzo catwalk - Crystallmess has been around a lot and has made a name for herself not only as a DJ but also as a producer for PAN, among others. Christoll Oyiri, who grew up in the Parisian banlieues, has French-Caribbean and African roots and deals with her origins in her sets. Inspired by Kodwo Eshun's remarks on Afrofuturism, her DJ style resembles an uncompromising, globalized and diasporic reappraisal of techno and club music, where textures and narratives are given more weight than genres. The common denominator of the selected tracks is Oyiri's love for polyrhythms.
