François Bayle is a French composer and pioneer of electronic music. He is considered one of the central figures in the development of “musique concrète”, a musical genre that works with recorded sounds and their manipulation. Bayle was associated with the Groupe de Recherche de Musique Concrète (GRM) for many years and played a key role in shaping the French electronic and experimental music genre. He became particularly well known for his work in the field of sound space design and the use of tape recordings, which he processed into complex, often surreal soundscapes.
