Berlin-based Peruvian-Greek producer and singer-songwriter Sofia Kourtesis is considered one of last year's newcomers. Inspired by her hometown Lima and influenced by the mystical spirituality of her community, her deep house combines colourful, sun-drenched sounds with dreamy, bitter-sweet tunes. Over and over again, sophisticated samples of the most diverse provenance appear in them - whether field recordings from the Amazon, from protest movements or snippets from old films. Her DJ sets also thrive on Kourtesi's passion for collecting and her open ear for global sounds. Good mood is inevitable!
