Oswald Egger lives in Vienna, where he also graduated in litreature and philosophy in 1992. Since 1998 he is the editor of the magazine Der Prokunist. He was a writer in residence in Texas (Chianti-Foundations) in 2000, in Los Angeles (Villa Aurora) in 2001, and had a professorship at the Cornell University in Ithaca in 2003. Among many others, he also received the H.C. Artmann award in 2008 and the Oskar Pastior award in 2010.
