Michael Bauer is a medical practitioner, hacker and activist. After his studies he decided to go into research. He soon realized that he felt restricted in the research environment, and discovered his knack for data. He decided to dedicate himself to his passion for freedom in the digital age, and was involved in Internet-policy campaigns for a whole year. He joined the Open Knowledge Foundation to help spread the skills of turning data into information with the School of Data.
