Thomas Lohninger works as a software developer and studies Cultural and Social Anthropology at the University of Vienna. Through these engagements he developed an interest in the hacking and Internet politics scene. Since 2011 he has been active in the working group on data retention and worked in the core team of the first ACTA demonstrations. Lohninger acts as a community coordinator for the Open Knowledge Foundation Austria and, on behalf of the union GPA-djp, he runs workshops for practical data security for shop committees.
