DJ Spinn (Morris Harper) is a pioneering DJ and producer from Chicago and a central figure in the city’s footwork and juke music scene. He began DJing in the 1990s at house parties, roller rinks, and local events, and soon started producing tracks alongside longtime collaborator DJ Rashad. Together, they helped found the collective and label Teklife, which played a key role in bringing Chicago-style footwork to global attention.
Known for his frenetic, hard-hitting production style, DJ Spinn blends fast breakbeats, heavy bass, and chopped samples with influences from hip-hop, soul, and ghetto house. His notable releases include Man I Do It EP (2011) and Off That Loud EP (2015). As a DJ and producer, he continues to tour internationally, delivering high-energy sets and inspiring dancers, DJs, and producers worldwide.
