Beatmaker and a producer of the highly acclaimed London electronic outfit The xx, one of the biggest indie bands last year, Jamie xx realizes his full potential with remixes of his own and other band's songs, showing that he is just as talented on his own as he is backed by his band.
Following his inescapably brilliant reworking of Florence And The Machine's YGTL and equally compelling remixes of The xx's own Basic Space, Island and Hot Like Fire, came remixes of Eliza Doolitle's Money Box and Jack Penate's Pull My Heart Away - reworks that present a totally new crossover genre blending dubstep and garage.
His latest remix of Glasser's Tremmel, by many far better than the original, is again a surprisingly fruitful exquisite corpse.
His DJ sets are focusing on the heavier end of space bass, leaning heavily toward everything big beats and wobble, with a fine amount of UK Garage that will also get you going, giving some real insight into what makes The xx beatsmith's clock tick. He made mixes for Fact Magazine, BBC Radio 1's Annie Mac show and Rinse FM's Alex Nutt show, to name a few, proving that he is an adept selector and mixer.
"There are tracks that you hear that instantly trigger images of incredible parties. These are the tracks that I try and play and right now they seem to all be emerging from the UK underground dance scene. The sets that I most enjoy never reach a massive peak of excitement but rather keep the tension in a room that captures your attention for hours on end."
