Funkfeuer

Funkfeuer Graz is a free, experimental wireless network. It is open for any - and everyone interesting in engaging. Funkfeuer is a non-regulated network that bridges the digital gap between social classes in an effort to provide infrastructure and knowledge. Funkfeuer is operated by computer enthusiasts with different motivations and different interests. The project does not persue any commercial interest. Funkfeuer has a deep seated DIY-ethic, every knot in the net decides for his - or herself how much time and effort one is willing to invest. The social network behind all this, offers know-how and practical help. Funkfeuer is also a social experiment that tries to apply work methods from the open-source world to a social setting. They have been working together with friendly activist groups in Austria and abroad for quite some time, trying to carry the central message of Funkfeuer outside of Graz and into the world. There is no central institution, everybody is a provider! We buid our own networks!
