Presentation of the discussion paper
Open Source for Seeds?
Open Source is a response to an increase of private appropriation of the commons. The open-source principle has its origins in the field of informatics, and suggests ways to protect commons from privatisation. This discussion paper investigates if Open Source could also be applied to seeds and plant breeding, illustrates the present state of debate, and attempts to further develop the idea. The paper will presented and discussed in this workshop.
